RICK WOOD
About Rick:
Rick Wood has performed across the United States, Canada and Thailand. He has appeared at the Laughing Skull Comedy Fest, 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival, and Limestone Comedy Festival. He’s opened for Chris Gethard, Kyle Kinane, Tom Rhodes and other comedians on the outskirts of fame.
Wood spends his days in Los Angeles as a producer for the MTV show Ridiculousness and his nights in comedy clubs and bars talking about Evel Knievel, UFOs, ghosts, cheap beer, the Wild West and sandwiches.
Rick’s adoration for John Prine and his music runs deep. While living in Chicago in the 90’s-00’s he would regularly perform Prine’s tunes at the Gallery Cabaret, eventually getting involved in the John Prine tribute record, “The Postman Delivers : A Chicago Musicians’ Tribute to John Prine.”
Rick grew up in Virginia, joined the Air Force, lived all over the country while working a number of terrible jobs before choosing comedian as the best terrible job in the world. Rick weaves painfully funny stories about growing up in a white trash area of town with incisive observations about modern culture and the absurd human behaviors that have somehow over time become accepted as normal.
